Mr. Gobble Bag

Meet Mr. Gobble Bag! He is the newest addition in our home. I read a cute article about him and thought it was a good idea to introduce him to my children. So after creating him i proceeded to explain to my girls what Mr. Gobble bag is all about. I told them that at the end of every day Mr. Gobble Bag comes out and gobbles up anything left on the floor that doesn't belong there. And of course my 5 year old had many questions. Will he eat my blanky? ....if it's on the floor.
Will he eat my clothes?...if they're on the floor. Will he eat crumbs?...if there are some on the floor. Then she started to tell me all the things she wants to leave on the floor so he will eat them....she said...i'm gonna leave him some macaroni on the floor...and i'm gonna leave some cheese on the floor.
I then told her that we don't want to leave food on the floor.
Sadie: Why not?
Mom: Because he doesn't eat yummy food...he only likes toys and clothes and crayons etc,,
Sadie: Can i leave this book on the floor....i don't really like it anyways.
Mom: You can, but we don't want Mr. Gobble Bag to eat our stuff.
Sadie: THEN WHY DID YOU MAKE HIM?
Mom: uuum...well, hunny i made him because mommy doesn't want to pick up everything at the end of the day by herself.
Sadie: THEN WHY DON'T YOU JUST ASK US TO DO IT!!
Mom: Thinking....gee that would be a simple solution...if only it worked in the past....
(Seriously child! You are too smart for your own good.)
Mom: Why do you think sweetheart?
Sadie: Because we won't do it.
She is so funny! She had so many questions about him and clearly i didn't think it through completly before i introduced her to Mr. Gobble Bag. She managed to find a few loop holes that i get to handle. Like just picking up everything off the floor and cluttering her desk or dresser....i guess i did just say it has to be picked up off the floor.

Then there is our sweet Amberly. She is such a big girl now and we have so much fun with her...clearly she doesn't like to go to sleep in her big girl bed and so every night she comes out while dave and i are watching our nightly t.v. She is actually very good because she doesn't go in sadies room (very often) and she doesn't come down stairs, she just sits there at her door. We think this is pretty cute and know that she will eventually get tired enough and fall asleep. So this is how we found her last night before we went to bed.

This is the girls before they got there shots last week. Amberly did very good surprisingly and only whinned for a min. but then was over it. My dear Miss Sadie was a little bit more dramatic then i thought she would be. On her behalf she did have to have 5 shots! She was pretty sad about the whole thing as was I. It was a pretty tramatic experience for her.

Kamber- That is hilarious! My mom had a guy that would eat all of our toys if we left them out too but, we never got to see him. Maybe that is why we weren't smart enough to figure it out. So funny! You've got two cute little girls, and I'm so excited for you to have a little BOY!!

I love that Mr. Gobble Bag story! When I first started reading it I thought, oh what a great idea and then as I read Sadie's responses I thought yup, that is just what Hannah would have done! Sadie is so smart and such a cutie. My girls had to have their shots last week too. Hannah had four and lucky little Elise only had to have 1 this time. Oh the joys of motherhood. I just hate getting them their shots it breaks my heart to see them have pain inflicted on purpose!
